30 is the new 20…Happy Birthday to me!!

Today is my 30th Birthday and I am excited!  I feel it is a whole new chapter in my life.  I now have the knowledge and experience of my 20’s on my side so now it is bigger and better.  When I was 18 I remember thinking 30 years old was ancient.  Well if only I was wise back then 😉    I must say in my 20’s I had an absolute blast, barely slept, changed careers, met incredible people, traveled all over the world, made mistakes countless times, danced with my friends until the sun came up, and met the man I am going to spent the rest of my life with.  It was all about growing, learning and changing.  I thank all the people I have met on my journey, as they have all influenced me in some way.  I have beautiful friends both inside and out and they are all different, each with unique and special qualities.  My sisters too are so precious to me and I have learned so much from them. I also have the most incredible parents in the world, who are my best friends,  and I thank them for being my rock my entire life.

In the words of Zorba the Greek:  “While experiencing happiness, we have difficulty in being conscious of it.  Only when the happiness is past and we look back on it do we suddenly realize – sometimes with astonishment – how happy we had been.”

I look back at my 20’s and don’t think I would change a thing because those mistakes propelled me to wise up and direct me towards the road of maturity.  I am super excited to be turning 30 and the new adventures it will bring.  It just keeps getting better!! Today I am married, still a student of life and know that it’s ok to change your mind if it means you are doing what you are passionate about.  I am at an age where I laugh more than I ever have, don’t take myself too seriously, and just enjoying where I am at.

Here’s to all those gorgeous women in their 30’s, may we be bold and strong, take risks, love deeply, be role models and teachers, and love who we are!
